Repatriation of 133 Indian Nationals under Government of India's Vande Bharat Mission
A Special Flight from Dakar, Senegal, took off at 7 pm today, July 25, 2020, carrying 133 Indians, including women, children and sick, stranded in Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Mauritania.
This was the second special repatriation flight to India from Senegal.
The passengers were provided with face masks, face shields, hand sanitizers etc as part of our endeavour to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The exercise would not have been possible but for the close cooperation between large number of government entities. We particularly express our gratitude to the Governments of the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of The Gambia, the Republic of Guinea Bissau and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania who provided invaluable and prompt assistance at all times, and the authorities of the Blaise Diagne International Airport for facilitating the repatriation flight.
